Logo Triceratupuz Lab, experiments in the electroacoustic music field. Another useless site...

14.04.2012 - [TPZ03] Not Ensemble

The third Triceratupuz Netlabel release is out, code [TPZ03], it can be found in the netlabel page or in the Internet Archive. The program used to record these improvisations can be found in the csound page.

10.03.2012 - Minimal music 2

Added on the csound page a program for realtime playing of "Clapping Music" by another father of minimal music, Steve Reich.

13.08.2011 - [TPZ02] frantumHead

The second Triceratupuz Netlabel release is published, code [TPZ02], it can be found in the netlabel page or in the Internet Archive. The program used to record it can be found in the csound page.

23.07.2011 - Python module for octave.pitch class

Tricpch module to perform some operations on the height of a note in cSound octave.pitch class added on the Python page.

30.11.2010 - Temperator new version

The (Python) program temperator has been updated, it still generates the multiplication factors but additionally creates a file with intervals in cents and a jpg file to give a visual feedback for the generated scale compared with the traditional 12-TET.

16.10.2010 - Tricertupuz Netlabel - First Release

Triceratupuz Netlabel is born to publish the fruits of the experiments of the Lab, this means: every time experimentation will lead to interesting results (means vaguely tolerable by human hear), will be released under this label.
First release, code [TPZ01], is available on the Netlabel page and Here (space generously offered by Internet Archive).

10.09.2010 - Musica Parlata

From the collaboration with Prof. Alfredo Capozzi the MP-Player is born, it's a basic multitrack audio player to be used as support in music teaching; all the functions available (Play, Stop, Pause, FF, REV, speed up, speed down, markers, track muting) are controllable by simple keyboard commands to favour it's use to blind pepole.
The file can be downloaded from the Csound page.

27.05.2010 - From MIDI to score, a new friend, a loss

A program that from an input MIDI file output a file with a note listing in csound score format published in the Csound page.
A listen to the pieces composed and played by Enrico Francioni is highly recomended, links to his cdbaby and myspace pages can be found in the Links page.
What happened to www.live-electronics.com? A great resource lost?

22.03.2010 - Overtones and fractals

Reading the book "Fractals: Form, Chance and Dimension" by Benoit Mandelbrot has inspired me an experiment on the application of self similarity to sound overtones. On the Csound page I've released a small example of additive synth that use the idea of creating an overtone for each overtone's overtone with amplitude value being the multiplication of amplitudes of it's lower partials amplitudes...
The result? A sound with a lot of overtones influenced by lower order overtones... Obvious.

23.01.2010 - Multitouch + - controller!

Video!
Webcam Ps3Eye that goes to ReacTIVision that transmits with TUIO that is converted by Python in OSC to control Csound. The .py and .csd files (TUIO_CSD...) used in this video where added to the .zip (TUIO_CSD...) on the Python page.
My brand new YouTube channel: Triceratupuz Lab Channel.
I've also a logo (thanks to Saro M. for the sketch and to Gimp and me for the final version).

02.12.2009 - Multitouch controller?

First experiment for a multitouch controller using ReacTIVision and the TUIO protocol, the result is that I've created a python program (see Python page on this site) to transform TUIO messages in something readable for Csound (in the same archive an example csd is included).
Uses SimpleOSC library from www.ixi-audio.net to manage OSC messages.

18.11.2009 - Minimalismo, QuteCsound e Andres Cabrera

Andres Cabrera has suggested some modifications for QuteCsound version of "In C" (semplifying the function tables reading code). Modification performed and file released on the Csound page.
Thank You Andres!

09.11.2009 - Minimalism, QuteCsound and Joachim Heintz

Mr.Joachim Heintz has shown interest in the program for the performance of Terry Riley's "In C" and he want include it in the examples of the next QuteCsound release!
With his precious help we have developed a new version of the program that include all the ftables in the csd file and has an additional button to activate/deactivate all the players simultaneously; this new version has been published in the Csound page.
Thank You Joachim!

20.10.2009 - Minimalism and Csound

A program to play in real time "In C" by the father of minimalism Terry Riley added on the Csound page. To celebrate the event... new and even more minimal site graphic!
Maybe the RSS feed is working...

18.09.2009 - Python page and pickup modifier

Python page inaugurated with a simple program that generate multiplication factors for a microtonal system.
By coping the features reported on the Electro Harmonix site, created and added on Csound page the puspecmod (pick up spectra modificator).
In the meantime the Lab has been moved... around 3 meters.

12.08.2009 - First Update

English version on line. Loopolo (real time looper) added on Csound page.

29.05.2009 - Experiments... html

Triceratupuz online, layout under constant revision... missing pages... contents on the way.
